Where To Go

San Juan Del Sur - the number one town in Nicaragua for partying and surfing. Also hosts one of the best parties in central America every Sunday. You can take fishing or snorkeling trips from here and are surround by many tranquil beaches.

Omatepe Island - Surrounded by lake Nicaragua are two connected volcanoes called Concepcion and Maderas. Hiking the volcanoes and renting a scooter/dirt bike to explore the islands thermal springs are our favorite things to do here.

Granada -A colonial city full of colorful buildings and beautiful views of Lake Nicaragua. We recommend exploring the streets and shopping at the markets while spending just two days here.

Leon - Another gorgeous colonial city full of art influenced by past revolution. Home to the largest cathedral in Central America which is worth seeing. Has a fun bar hopping scene at night.

What To Do

Learn to Surf - Nicaragua is widely regarded as having some of the best surfing beaches in the world. There are loads of gorgeous beaches and surf schools to help get you started.

Volcanoes - whether you want to hike to the top of Ometepe island or volcano board (think sledding) down a volcano by Leon, both will leave you satisfied and with a story to tell. You can even see lava at certain active volcanoes.

Yoga - Nicaragua offers unbelievable Shalas sprinkled all along the coast and in the rainforest’s canopies. The low cost of living in Nicaragua mixed with the slow chilled out pace make it a perfect place for a yoga retreat.

Nightlife

Nicaragua is well known as the party capital of Central America. Sunday Funday is a legendary pub crawl and pool party in San Juan Del Sur that goes all day and can last all night if you to. Be prepared for copious amounts of drinking and seeing every backpacker in town come out for the day. Make sure not to lose your Sunday Funday tank top as you’ll see backpackers wearing it all over the country.
