Whether you are a football fan, music lover or history nut, Manchester is a fantastic city and one of the most culturally diverse in the whole of the UK. Manchester was originally settled by the Romans in 79AD and since then has remained one of the major hubs in England. Currently, it is England’s second-largest city and world-famous for its football clubs. It also has a thriving nightlife, vibrant art scene, and cultural activities able to enthrall any backpackers on their visit to England. Manchester is surrounded by rolling hills of the countryside near the Pennine Mountains. It gives visitors the opportunity to venture out and explore nature along with the bustling city. Visitors to this English city have the chance to balance their museum and cultural visits with some of the United Kingdom’s most stunning landscapes. Manchester’s historic standing in many fields has no shortage of activities to fill your stay.

Must See

Every graffiti-riddled street in the Northern Quarter is packed with vibrant cafés, bars, pubs, clubs, and eclectic stores

Albert Square - Albert Square is a public square in the center of Manchester and one of the best spots for people-watching. During the summer the square hosts many big festivals and events and, in winter, you’ll find the Manchester Christmas Market here.

Must Do

The Curry Mile - If you like curry than this will be where you can find the best Indian food outside of India. The Curry Mile is home to what is suspected to be the largest concentration of South Asian restaurants outside the Indian subcontinent.

Check Out or Go to A Game at Old Trafford - If you’re heading to Manchester then there is a chance that you are a Manchester United fan as they are the most popular team in Football worldwide. They play in the biggest club stadium in England and you are able to take tours or maybe even hit up a game on the weekend if you can get tickets.

Nightlife

Every quarter of the city is bustling with great bars, clubs and music hot spots. You may not be short of options but in a city this full of entertainment options, you’ll still need help deciding where to go. Manchester’s club scene is one of the biggest in England. Many big names started out playing here. Visit the Deansgate Locks for a rowdy row of swanky clubs and sports bars set inside the railway arches. Nearby, Oxford Road is home to several cool nightlife spots, which regularly hosts live music. For more alternative and edgier bars and clubs, head out to the Northern Quarter. The former industrial area has been transformed into a cultural hub with loads of bars and clubs.
