Backpacking Ibiza

Information on Ibiza, sights to see, nightlife, activities and more.

Get ready to party - Ibiza is most famous for its wild nightlife with several giant night-clubs, a mecca for techno and dance music lovers. All-night raver, bohemian hippy, blissed-out beach lover – Ibiza is all this and more to the many, many fans who have a soft spot for this party island. In summer the cream of the world's DJs descend on the island for their residencies, making it the ultimate destination for clubbers. Ibiza's modest population is swallowed whole by the seven-million-odd tourists that arrive en masse each year, and nowhere does sunset chilling quite like the White Isle. But there's more to this sun-kissed, beach-bejewelled, pine-clad island than meets the bleary eye. Step off the beaten track for a night in a rural hotel, a hidden hamlet, a hushed church or on a secluded north-coast cove to discover Ibiza's surprisingly peaceful side. Or roam the ramparts of Ibiza Town's to immerse yourself in the island's rich history and heritage.

Must See

Dalt Vila - Dalt Vila is the high part of the old historical center of Ibiza, located inside the 16th-century Renaissance city walls. Historically, the old city was a major enclave until the late 18th century due to its strategic geographic position in the network of maritime communications along the Mediterranean. This magnificent place, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999 by UNESCO, affords unforgettable views of the white island.

Playa Cala Xarraca - An ocean cove and expansive bay area with a sandy shoreline & clear waters for snorkeling, plus a natural mud bath.

Las Salinas Beach - The beach at Las Salinas is the southernmost tip of the island and is the best for partying.

Must Do

Hit Up a Boat Party - these are a fantastic way of getting value for money and ticking a few things off your list in one go. Often, for one price, you’ll get a great party, all of your drinks included, a few nightclub entries for after and you get to see stunning Ibiza from the sea.

Hit Up a Day Club - One of the great allures of Ibiza, with its stunning natural landscape and glorious weather, are its various daytime open-air parties. Just being able to dance under the sun to electronic music with a drink in hand - does it get any better than that?

Nightlife

Probably the number one reason why you came to Ibiza: the nightlife. There are so many clubs in Ibiza, since the island takes ownership as the top destination for the international electronic music and party scene. The clubs range from top names like Amnesia, hosting everything from EDM to techno, Pacha, where the naked walls enclose a hippie soul combined with the spontaneity of the 70's, and today's technology, Privilege, noted as the biggest nightclub in the world, and Ushuaia, the most famous open-air pool club in the world. Most popular nights are Wednesdays and Sundays, expect to head out around 2am and be up well past the sun rising.
