Must See

Visit the Historical Grote Markt - The Grand Place or Grote Markt is the beautiful medieval heart of the old town lined with typical Flemish houses It’s stunning. During Christmas time, this area is transformed into a gorgeous Christmas market with its very own ice-skating rink.

Climb to the Top of the Belfort Belfry - This 83-meter tall bell tower is one of Bruges best-known landmarks. It once housed the treasury and the municipal archives and was used for spotting threats. Climb the 366 steps to the top and enjoy some spectacular and panoramic views of the city.

Must Do

Take a Bout Tour in the Canals - Bruges is a city of canals and it is one of many European cities to have been dubbed ‘The Venice of the North’. With so many waterways crisscrossing the city, it’s easy to see why a boat tour is one of the most popular things to do in Bruges.

Enjoy the Belgian Snacks - As you wander around the city, you will see plenty of shops selling chocolate, waffles and fries. There’s even a Choco-Story museum that explains the history of Belgian chocolate, with samples to taste, of course.

Nightlife

Nightlife-wise, Bruges is not the wildest place. As a small day trip town full of beautiful architecture and quiet environment, clubs are few and far between so the scene is more relaxed. This being Belgium, though, there is one major thing to do in the evening: drink beer.

Being Belgium the amount and quality of pubs is definitely one area in which the city is not lacking. Its maze of narrow streets is lined with traditional old pubs where you can wash down some delicious food with a dizzying array of strong Belgian beers.
